Who we are

White Pine Labs is a small, veteran-owned security consultancy based in Southwest Michigan. We work with manufacturers, defense suppliers, and medical device companies across the state.

Companies like these are being asked harder security questions than ever, by primes, customers, and insurers. Most don’t have a security team, and they don’t need a big firm’s sales process to get a straight answer. We offer a small number of fixed-scope services, priced up front, and write reports your IT staff and your leadership can both act on.

Founder

White Pine Labs was founded by a veteran with a career on both sides of security: building defenses and testing them.

• Defense. Security engineering, security operations center (SOC) work, and SIEM architecture: designing the logging and detection that tells you when something is wrong.
• Offense. Penetration testing, red team operations, and physical security assessments: finding the way in before someone else does.
• Both at once. Purple team engagements, where attackers and defenders work side by side to find out what the alerts actually catch.

That mix shapes how we work. Findings come with fixes your team can actually make, and with a clear sense of what your monitoring would and wouldn’t have seen.

Why “White Pine”

The Eastern white pine is Michigan’s state tree, and it grows across the state. You can tell it from other pines by its needles, which grow in bundles of five. It’s a plain, sturdy tree, and that’s what we’re aiming for: practical, local, and built to last.
